A Solo Dev Project with a Mission
Hi, I'm Niko. About 30 years ago, my parents bought a small zoo in Denmark and converted it into a rescue center, Odsherred Zoo Rescue, Denmark's first zoo and rescue center for exotic animals in need. We take in animals from the medical and cosmetic testing industry, illegally obtained exotic pets, surplus animals who might otherwise be put down, fur farm animals, and others facing difficult fates, giving them a forever home.
I left home to work as a game developer, but about 8 years ago we lost my dad to cancer. I moved back to help my mother and the 600+ exotic rescue animals living at the zoo. Now I'm both a zookeeper and a solo game developer, and I'm using those skills to build something that can make a real difference.
Niko's Rescue Zoo is a community multiplayer online game where you explore the world of Niko's Rescue Zoo, fight the evil coffee machine and its robot minions, rescue animals, and build your own rescue zoo with friends. It's a huge project for one person, and that's exactly why it's invite-only. Together with the community, we make the game great over time, with the goal of helping as many animals as possible and having fun together.
